Free Software

To make your life just a little easier!

Some of this, I have mentioned on the forums. But there is other stuff as well, that I haven't been able to.

HTML Tutorial

This really is one of the best ones around. I have used this for many years, and still refer to it often. Even if you are reasonably familiar with HTML, it serves as a great reference guide. You get this with the web-site and e-book package, but no need to get that if you don't need/want it. The tutorial is free.

HTML Editor

There are many HTML editors out there - it can be hard to know which one to choose. You can use anything from a simple text editor such as "notepad", through to a complex programme like "Dreamweaver". If you are new to building websites, then I would suggest a simple but effective editor such as Arachnophilia. This will do almost anything a more advanced wysiwyg system will do, but without the steep learning curve. It is a free download, and used with the HTML tutorial above, you will be creating great looking pages very quickly. (all my sites, including this one are built with this programme).
Download Arachnophilia here

Article Submitter

I gave the link to this in the SBI forums as soon as this software was released. This really does make it so easy to submit your articles to as many article sites as you like. A little bit of work for a start, setting up your details with the different sites, but after that it's all plain sailing. There is a free version, as well as a more comprehensive paid one. But I think you will probably find this free one will be quite enough.

Directory Submitter

I have also mentioned this on the forums....it's one of my favorite bits of (free) software. You know how important one way links are for your site. Well, this makes it so much easier and quicker to get them! The free version is available for download here.
